Asian American Therapy
I was born and raised in Northeastern China and adopted to the U.S. at 15. I’ve spent my life moving through Asian and Asian American worlds.

Do you feel like you’re never enough?
Is the relationship with your parents complicated in ways that are hard to untangle?
The weight you carry living up to expectations leaves little room for your own needs. You might carry grief that is tough to put into words.

I understand the tension of living between cultures because I have lived them too.

What Therapy With Me Is Like
Our work is collaborative, warm, and deeply reflective. I pay close attention to spoken and unspoken behavioral, relational patterns. I act as a curious copilot, asking questions you may have never been asked before. If you speak or are spoken to in Mandarin Chinese or another language in the home or beyond, we will also explore the power of language-switching in our emotional experiences.
Together, we slow down, dig deep, and bring what’s underneath to the surface to move toward clarity and action.

Modalities I Use
Interpersonal process therapy (IPT)
Mindful self-compassion (MSC)
CBT structures
Neurodiversity-informed care
Trauma-informed therapy
Queer/trans-affirming therapy

Hi there. I'm Mandy (she/her/她).

I bring a blend of personal lived experience and in-depth clinical training to this work. My approach is warm, attuned, and collaborative. I want therapy and the therapeutic relationship to feel corrective of past experiences where you did not feel seen.
As a therapist, I am a guide, not a director. I ask thoughtful questions to get you to know the parts of yourself that never had permission or space to speak. We follow your pace and use your own internal wisdom to decide what comes next. Even in the hard moments, we’ll find the humor.
Outside of work, I love listening to music and trying new recipes. My retired, racing greyhound and chihuahua mix are my trusty sidekicks. I also enjoy traveling with friends and family, recently through New England and going up Mt. Washington by cog railway.
Availability: I see patients in-person in North Seattle + offer online therapy in Washington and other PSYPACT states.
