Eating Disorder Therapy
I've walked alongside many through the complex origins and powerful, maintaining forces of eating disorders.
Do you body-check or are body-avoidant?
Is the anxiety around food and body image overwhelming?
You may be stuck in cycles of working hard to control your eating patterns and appearance without fulfillment or satisfaction. You may be exhausted and wondering why nothing works. You might not be able to look at yourself without criticism.

Let’s work together to untangle the emotional, cultural, and relational messages behind your suffering. And use evidence-based tools to be freed from the cycle.

Clients Come to Me with
-
Difficult relationship with food
-
Body image dissatisfaction
-
Rigid food rules
-
Binge, restrict, purge cycles
-
Fear of weight gain
-
Not feeling good enough
-
Emotional exhaustion
-
Guilt and shame
-
Disconnection from others
You can use someone in your corner to work through it all without judgment.

What Therapy With Me Is Like
First, we get to know you and find a pace that feels right. We’ll also think about whether looping in other providers, such as a physician or nutritionist, would help determine underlying causes.

Together, we look beneath the behaviors to the emotional experience driving them. We explore patterns, expectations, and the narratives that shape how you relate to your body. I also bring in evidence-based skills to help you feel more steady day-to-day, while we work on the root causes that make these patterns so persistent.
Modalities I Use
Psychoeducation
CBT
Interpersonal process therapy (IPT)
Mindful self-compassion (MSC)
Trauma-informed therapy
Queer/trans-affirming therapy

After Therapy, Clients Report

-
More intuitive eating
-
Flexibility with eating and exercise
-
Better distress tolerance
-
Closer relationships
-
Greater comfort in their body
-
Less anxiety overall
-
Self-compassion
-
Expanded view of self
Each shift creates more space for peace, connection, and a fuller sense of self.

Hi there. I'm Mandy (she/her/她).

Eating disorders are not a personal failing- they’re a response to pressure, pain, and unmet emotional needs.

Therapy with me is about getting to know yourself at a deeper level and discovering what is beneath the struggle, not simply treating symptoms.

Our work balances in-depth reflection with practical tools so you feel supported in the moment while also building toward lasting change.

Outside of work, I love listening to music and trying new recipes. My retired, racing greyhound and chihuahua mix are my trusty sidekicks. I also enjoy traveling with friends and family, recently through New England and going up Mt. Washington by cog railway.
Availability: I see clients in-person in North Seattle + offer online therapy in Washington State and PSYPACT states.
